A new design for the spring-summer collection is the Track Smock in Yellow by Nigel Cabourn. The design features have been influenced by Formula 1 pit crews during the 1950s. It’s an oversized cotton poplin anorak making it lightweight – which suits modern day life perfectly. It takes its shape from a 1950s Swiss cold-weather mountain smock, and like the vintage piece on which it was based on, features a large hood, heavy-duty metal buttons, a drawstring waist and a half-button placket down the front. It’s also got two sizable bellows pockets on the chest, which are a detail taken from a vintage US Marines jacket.
Created as part of the Lybro range of modern workwear, the fabric has been garment dyed to give it a distressed, worn-in patina, which improves with wear – adding to its functionality.
