Pala Eyewear does more than make your eyes look good.
For every pair of sunglasses sold, Pala Eyewear provide grants directly to eyecare projects in Africa, supporting long term solutions that facilitate better eyecare, eye-tests and provision of spectacles.
Plus, the woven cases are made from recycled plastic. Waste plastic is collected, washed, melted and re-purposed into the plastic cord that is then woven into the unique cases.
Each case is uniquely woven, handmade by a traditional weaver from one of three rural communities in Bolgatanga, Upper East Ghana, creating a new source of income for the weavers. Pala Eyewear provide each artisan all the materials they need; they then weave the cases in their own time and return the finished product for payment.
The box packaging is FSC MIX certified, from responsible sources. And all printed materials come from recycled paper stock.
