Based on the headwear worn by mechanics and flight crew in the US Air Force during WW2, the Nigel Cabourn Mechanics Cap is a hardwearing baseball cap. Although these caps were intended as a functional means to keep the sun out of mechanics' eyes whilst preparing aircraft for take-off, their use quickly extended to other parts of the Air Force due to their practical nature.
Woven in Japan by fabric specialists Hokkoh, the denim has been woven using 100% cotton. The fabric has undergone a special enzyme wash to give a faded appearance and a softer feel.
